Exploring the heritage of Wolgadeutsche - the Russian Germans
The Soviet Union was a vast and diverse multinational state that encompassed numerous nationalities, ethnic groups, and cultures. At its height, the Soviet Union comprised 15 republics, each designated as a Soviet Socialist Republic (SSR), along with various autonomous regions and districts. One of the national minorities of the USSR was Wolgadeutsche - ethnic Germans who settled in the Volga River region of Russia during the 18th century. They were invited by Catherine the Great in the late 1700s to help develop agriculture in the area.
During World War II, many Volga Germans were deported to Kazakhstan and Siberia by Stalin, who distrusted ethnic Germans living in the Soviet Union. In the...

8:28 clearly there is a special issue in Russia compared to western Europe but this is too much. Residential, used for some kind of residential purpose, not a church, not ONLY a fortification never lived in....there does seem to be older than that, just based on a google search. Chambers of Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky in the Vladimir region from the 12th century seem to have survived via incorporation into a monastery. A monastery will naturally incorporate residential structures. The faceted Palace in Moscow 'rebuilt' many times, what does rebuilt mean here? It really isn't that bad. nb. Second world war Nazi attitudes and views on the development of buildings in Rural russia, not deserving of respect. Touchy issue. Accuracy.

Sir, thank you for the fantastic video. Your narrative is very authentic, especially with your Russian accent. Why are the Russian and American governments unable to develop a friendly relationship? Why does the American government have to be so hostile toward Russia? Your videos will have documentary value someday.

I had no idea these even exist in Turkey and some of them made after WW2 which shows here 9:29 with the date of 1957. I've found the wiki page. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%87akmak_Line#cite_note-%C3%87akmak_Hatt%C4%B1-2-4 Here says "However, President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk opposed his plan and said: War is always fought on the ground and it is won or lost on the ground. No matter how powerful the Çakmak Line is, its lifespan is as short as that of a battle. I do not bury my people's money under the ground for a whim." And these money wasting projects started after his death. It's remarkable quote. And this reminded me the bunkers in Albania and how Enver Hoxha buried Albanians money underground by building more than 750,000 bunkers under 20 years which led to his own burial by his own nation and people, lol. Atatürk foreseen it decades before and later we have seen how useless and even catastrophic it can be.

Stalin was not such a complete idiot: why go to some mythical (then not even existing) Israel, if you can build a kind of Israel in the middle of nowhere near China and control all the Jews of the Empire of Evil. It was a good thing our forefathers did not fall for that lure and left for the promised land from that cursed place.

You are a beauty standard, I bet people are intimidated by that and act awkward so you prefer to be alone in the wild rather than be surrounded by people. I was thinking about the people that give you a ride in their car, how they must feel when you take off, I'd start crying like a child.

Thanks for blurring that dudes face. This is something people dont wanna talk about in Chechnya for that exact reason they just disappear people like its nothing. I dont know for sure but Dagestan is similar maybe not as ruthless as Kadyrov n Chechnya but pretty much the same people same beliefs same religion. I dont understand how Kadyrov hasnt been assassinated honestly but putin would probably rather keep him alive. Controlled "opposition", even tho they're allies, is probably much safer for the region as they'd probably turn into the next islamic state safety zone like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan n Turkmenistan have become in the past few years. I remember seeing a documentary a couple months ago about this tajik special forces presidential security that randomly disappeared one day n soon after made a video saying theres thousands of fighters ready to create an insurgency there because of shit they didnt like the government was doing and Kadyrov probably had that talk with putin to keep the area secure. With all the attacks that keep on happening like yesterday in dagestan at the synagogue, the moscow concert attack a couple months ago n the people in both countries being supportive of Palestinians and hamas against Israel, its probably pretty dire situation that putin doesnt want to spill over into russia especially since hes in a war with Ukraine they can't afford to have a war going on n getting surprise attacked by radical jihadis
